As the world appears to be spiraling out of control, Spiritual Prepper helps you focus your spirituality, morality, and faith in these troubled times. Religious liberty is under attack. Immorality is the standard. Christians are being persecuted. The church is struggling because it s been getting solutions from the wrong places. We shouldn t be surprised about these current conditions, but we are. Spiritual Prepper provides a fresh perspective on end-time prophecy by drawing out the spiritual effects of natural disasters, the Antichrist, the mark of the beast, topics like the spiritual implication of identifying with Christianity (2 Peter 3:3), and gravitating to messages you want to hear (2 Tim. 4:3-4). The biblical prophecies that explain these events and could help us cope have been overshadowed. Spiritual Prepper brings to light and makes relevant the forgotten prophecies that explain that men will take advantage of women (2 Tim. 3:6), Christians will quench the power of the Holy Spirit (2 Tim 3:1-5), believers will betray fellow believers (Matt. 24:3-13), and more. Spiritual Prepper is a guide to families and churches who need encouragement in the face of loved ones who have turned away from God and their faith. As the fallen word races towards the day of judgment, the time to be prepared spiritually is now. There will come a time when a spiritual disaster hits and we have to remain faithful. The goal is that you d persevere and remain faithful. That on the day you see the Lord, you d hear, well done my good and faithful servant. "

From the bestselling authors of The Rise of Babylon and The ISIS Crisis, the essential guide for Christians about what Bible prophecy foretells concerning current events in the Middle East—especially the rise of ISIS and the resurgence of Russia—while providing a way to find peace and hope in the face of end times concerns. ISIS, Russia, and Iran are daily atop headlines and are among chief sources of intensifying unease among Americans about how current world conflicts will unfold. Using the Old Testament texts of prophets Ezekiel and Daniel as foundational passages, Bible experts Charles Dyer and Mark Tobey explain the connection between Bible prophecy and real-time events such as the growing alliance between Russia and Iran; the unsettling of the region as ISIS ravages countries and redraws boundaries; and the pull of Turkey and Saudi Arabia into the fray by Russian encroachment, Iranian meddling, and the United States’ inability to create and lead a coalition. Simultaneously, Dyer and Tobey provide practical encouragement and spiritual principles for finding comfort, strength, and perspective in an unsettling time while laying out a strategy for responding out of faith rather than fear in the face of end times concerns.

To responsibly exegete the text of First Timothy, one must become familiar with the vocabulary. But examination of word meanings involves more than simply looking up words in a lexicon and choosing a gloss that seems appropriate. Rick Brannan evaluates the vocabulary of the First Timothy in light of the New Testament, the Septuagint (LXX), the Apostolic Fathers, the works of Philo, the works of Josephus, the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha, and other material. Many commentaries and other works of exegesis mention material from these sources to provide background information or examples of word usage, duly noting references to such works in footnotes or endnotes. Brannan's work, however, provides full quotations (in translation) of the relevant references. Instead of relegating these citations to footnotes that are seldom if ever looked up, the cited text itself is reproduced for the reader to evaluate. Rick Brannan has produced a robust and rigorous exegetical introduction to First Timothy. This book is a great guide to the nuances of the Greek text that interpreters need to grapple with as they attempt to interpret this letter. Whether it is women "saved through childbirth" or how "you will save both yourself and your hearers," Brannan shows you what you need to know as you wrestle with First Timothy. - Dr. Michael F. Bird (PhD University of Queensland) is Lecturer in Theology at Ridley College in Melbourne, Australia. Rick Brannan's methodology for these word studies in First Timothy opens new semantic vistas because he takes into account the usage of the Greek words in contemporary Koine works like the Pseudepigrapha and Josephus. Furthermore, he illustrates the "effective" use of these lexemes in the Apostolic Fathers as well. He is careful not to be guilty of anachronism in the latter practice but simply illustrates how the word was understood in Christian literature written soon after the Pastorals. In some ways, this is a ground-breaking approach that deserves serious consideration by other commentators on the sacred text. - Dr. William Varner is Professor of Bible and Greek at The Master's College.

The world is not safe. Earthquakes, tornados, and floods are happening with more frequency and intensity. Terrorist attacks are on the rise. Christians are being persecuted in America. It's time for the church to step up and be prepared for trials and tribulation to come. What does the Bible say about being prepared for disasters? Should Christians protect themselves with firearms? Should we stockpile supplies? How should we be prepared for the possibility of a coming economic collapse, an electro magnetic pulse (EMP) attack, or a potentially looming World War III? What are Christians to do in the face of persecution? How can we be a witness in times of distress? Be Thou Prepared warns of the imminent Christian persecution coming to the United States and explains the role of faith in times of trouble. Be Thou Prepared is the first book to deal with spiritual and practical readiness for what's bound to come – sooner or later. While acknowledging true hope lies in faith and reliance on God in the face of disaster and persecution,Be Thou Prepared also makes the biblical case for preparedness for all types of situations – not as an option but as a spiritual imperative. Are we on the verge of a great apostasy in the church? “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths.” —2 Timothy 4:3-4 Jesus Christ is coming back. It is certainly a Christian’s greatest hope during these difficult times. The Bible warns us that the last days will be tumultuous—wars and rumors of wars will spread (Matthew 24:6). In our age, the world seems to be spinning out of control, creating fear, confusion, and uncertainty. In addition to violence, pestilence, and epidemics, the Bible predicts a great “falling away” from God in the end times. Bible teachers call that “the great apostasy.” Are we seeing evidence today in the church of this massive rejection of sound and wholesome teaching? Bestselling authors Mark Hitchcock and Jeff Kinley team up to examine the evidence from the teachers of our time. Are today’s teachers allowing people to follow their own desires by telling them what they want to hear, as the Bible clearly predicts? Are major portions of the church ready to abandon sound and wholesome teaching? Together, Mark and Jeff explore alarming trends among today’s church leaders and they are simply stunned by what they discover. The great apostasy is coming, but is it closer than we imagine? What does that mean for the future? Let Mark and Jeff be your steady guides to the difficult days ahead.

This book is centered around the relationship between ethnic Israel and biblical eschatology. For at the heart of biblical eschatology is what Isaiah referred to as "the controversy of Zion" (Isaiah 34:8) and what Jeremiah termed "the time of Jacob's trouble" (Jeremiah 30:7).The "controversy of Zion" refers to the historical continuum of spiritual and natural conflict over the city of Jerusalem; the past, present and future Land of Israel; and the Jewish people whose ancient history and prophetic destiny are inextricably connected. The "time of Jacob's trouble" refers to the Age-ending suffering of the Jewish people and the glorious restoration that follows. It is this time of "trouble" that lays the ancient contention and controversy to rest through the "restoration of the Kingdom to Israel" and the decisive once-and-for-all "judgment of the nations" who take part in the "final" assault on the people and the Land of Israel.

As this team did with the book, "Making The Case For Christianity" (CPH), Drs. Bombaro and Francisco bring together a variety of contemporary Lutheran apologists to respond to a wide array of challenges to the heart of the Christian Faith. Each chapter addresses a specific argument from a popular, non-Christian author and offer a clear and concise rebuttal and argument for the resurrection. The editors have found able representatives from the disciplines of biblical studies, history, philosophy, and the legal profession to write each chapter. The book is accessible, written for a broad audience, and is ultimately designed to equip its readers for the apologetics task.
